Biography
Laka, with real name Ankude Kossi K. Leopold, was born on the 2nd of August in 1970 in Lomé (Togo). He has a DEUG degree in Economics of the University of Libreville (Gabon), there he started his artistic career in 1993. He finally returned to Togo in 1998 with his first exibition at Goethe Institute in Lomé in the following year.
His work, mainly paintings and assemblages, deals with humans in all dimensions. From their daily worries and occupations to their transcendent aspirations, the source of his inspiration.
